Understand what is required for effective leadership of agile teams

Agile teams required a very different form of leadership than traditional teams. The good news is that leaders do not need to unlearn all of what they previously knew when leading teams. However, they will need to develop other aspects of their skillset. This course will explain the differences between traditional and agile team leadership and help you understand how to create an environment for success with your teams.

About the session

The Session

This two-day workshop will cover why a different type of leadership is required and what this means for you as an individual. We will explore the dynamics between a self-managing, cross-functional team and leadership and how to facilitate a new, more coherent relationship between you and your teams.

We will look at what makes a great agile team and how you can guide your team towards Team Mastery through contextual leadership. As well as the dynamics with the team, we will also explore what this means for your organisation; its structure, culture and processes

Who this session is aimed at

The target group

This course is predominantly aimed at leaders and team coaches within organisations who have started the journey towards a more engaged, empowered and resilient culture.Ideally delegates should hold influence within the organisation and be prepared to influence, coach and lead their colleagues through a long transition. This is not a course for simple theory accumulation; the benefits will come if you bring your specific context to the workshop and are prepared to start applying it before taking it back for further adoption. This course can also be valuable for members of teams looking to become more agile and begin re-shaping their relationship with leadership within the organisation.

“This was, quite simply, the best training course I’ve been on.In many ways it was common sense but with empirical underpinning and practical applicability.” - Rob

What others are saying

Amazing – the best training I have ever had
Rob
On the one hand this was full of radical concepts that will involve a lot of upheaval at our organisation but Geoff presented them calmly, rationally and supported them with practical ways to evolve our organisation
Jen H
Geoff's training was spot-on. His interactions with the board were respectful and challenging, and he covered lots of ground whilst adapting to the emerging conversations and context, delivering a highly personalised and engaging day
